Musical Cats

This winter our family has fostered up to three stray felines on our front porch.  This is an unlikely thing to do south of Detroit in February.  A lovely young woman has adopted one female Siamese to bring up North as companion for a male.  Admittedly, it is too cold to ignore the plaintive cry of a hungry, lonely kitty.  But if my husband didn't want kitties to keep showing up on the doorstep begging, why did he feed each one?  And if he didn't want the male tabby to come inside, why did he set up a small kitty house on the porch, fill it with straw and an electric small animal warming pad?

The fun and reward of bringing comfort to a creature in need is far more fulfilling than expected. Stay warm, dry and well fed, Rosie, Harry and Loo-Loo!

  1. PostScript ~ LooLoo had five kittens April 10th 2010. We nurtured them and Mama in the back bathroom for 7 weeks until the "cat man" at PetSmart came by. He scooped them all up, gave them shots and all the rest. I visited them at PetSmart adoption ($100 each ~ wow) until they were gone. Now it's just Rosie Grace and Handsome Harry remaining at the homestead.
